Job PurposePerform a full range of critical mechanical inspection and QC activities on fixed (static) equipment and static parts of rotating equipment. Functional Duties (up to 15)1. Perform critical external and internal inspection of plant equipment for mechanical and corrosion defects, including welding, coating and non-metallic inspections. 2. Ensure the integrity and compliance of facilities and plant equipment with applicable codes and Client engineering specifications and requirements during fabrication/manufacturing (procurement), installation/constructions (projects) and in-service / shutdowns (operations). 3. Master use of inspection tools, including callipers, micrometres, boroscopes, and pit gauges; NDT conventional methods (VT, PT, MPT, UT & RT) and provide interpretation of results. 4. Identify use and requirements of advanced NDT methods, i.e., Internal Rotary Inspection System (IRIS), Eddy Current Testing, Magnetic Flux Leakage, Acoustic emission, TOFD, High Energy or Electronic Radiography, shear wave and automated UT and provide interpretations. 5. Witness and approve hydrostatic, pneumatic and other pressure testing. 6. Oversee corrosion monitoring and inspection activities as required in the work process. 7. Evaluate and interpret inspection findings, defects and repairs. 8. Generate and draft inspection worksheets; provide recommendations and reports. 9. Ensure accuracy and integrity of inspection records, log books and management systems. 10. Perform critical QC inspection of new equipment fabrication and installation and/or repairs and modification of existing equipment. 11. Inspect critical and high-risk heat treatment, installation of hot taps, weld plus ends sleeves, pads and any welding required on process equipment while on service. 12. Inspect critical equipment for cleanness and safe entry prior to internal inspection. 13. Review of inspection related procedures and engineering documents and act as an expert in his discipline. 14. Mentor and provide OJT training for inspectors to be fully qualified and certified. 15. Assist and provide discipline expertise in Integrity, QA, root cause and RBI studies for existing facilities and participate in QA Assessments for vendors and projects. 16. Perform any job-related activities as requested by the immediate supervisor/ manager. EducationCertifications, Licenses, and Designations · Essential: Two-year Technical College degree in Mechanical studies or equivalent.· English Proficiency: Up to Level 7, TOFEL or equivalent. · AWS welding inspector. · Level II Certification in the five (5) conventional NDT methods (VT, PT, MT, UT & RT). · At least two API or ASME Inspector certifications for vessels/boilers, tanks or piping. · CSWIP Plant Inspector Level III and RTFI Level II. · Valid Driver License.
